What to have in the diaper bag?
What, besides diapers and wet wipes of course, do you need to have in the diaper bag for a newborn baby? We have listed what we think is essential to have in a diaper bag to prepare for most situations.
ONESIE
Pack at least two extra onesies in the diaper bag. These classic and soft garments fit snugly and are a perfect change if the baby makes a mess.
HAT
Protects against cold and keeps the baby warm. Choose a hat based on the season and ensure it fits comfortably without chafing.
BOTTLE FEEDING KIT
For babies who like formula, it's good to have a formula bottle, formula powder, and a thermos with lukewarm water for easy prepping when the baby gets hungry. When the baby is older than 4 months, there are convenient and appreciated smoothies and porridges in drink-friendly packages.
SOFT BLANKET
Soft, cozy blankets have several uses; they provide comfort, create a cozy atmosphere, are pleasant to lie on in the grass, and keep the baby warm when the wind picks up.
SCARF/BIB
With a scarf or bib, you can save extra clothing changes due to spills, as this clever garment catches the spill. Pack a few extras to be on the safe side.
TOYS
A rattle, children's book, or something else that your baby enjoys is always handy to have in the diaper bag for entertainment.
SOCKS
If it gets chilly outside, it can be nice for the baby to put on a pair of socks, especially if they often want to be carried because their feet can get colder.
