UV, ultraviolet radiation including UVA and UVB radiation, can, as we all know, burn the skin and make it red. How strong the sun is, depends on where you are, because the thickness of the protective ozone layer varies in different places. The closer you are to the equator, the stronger the sun is.
However, it’s when the sun is at its highest that it’s at its strongest, which occurs between 11 AM and 3 PM. UV rays can also burn the skin on cloudy days. Therefore, it is important to always protect your skin in the summer. Children under 1 year should never stay in direct sunlight regardless.
