The spring is finally here! The kids are so excited and totally ready to be outside all day long, discover new things… but what kind of clothes are the best ones for it? It's cold in the morning, hot during the day, suddenly the rain pours down and the evening ends with a warm breeze.
Here we give 5 smart tips on great spring clothes, so that the children are equipped for the erratic weather of spring.

High five for Villervalla's shell clothing! These versatile and functional garments work all year round. With a shell jacket you get a windproof and waterproof garment with good ventilation, which can be worn as it is or with a fleece jacket underneath if it is cold outside. The shell jacket is thin and light and also provides comfortable protection against insects.
If the child is out playing, a pair of shell trousers usually do the trick as protection for the trousers underneath against various puddles and sand, as well as the fact that they withstand the cold wind.
Fleece jacket or fleece sweater are perfect spring clothes. On cold mornings it can be worn under the shell jacket and during the day individually as it is. A fleece garment is warm enough and keeps away the cold spring wind. It is also comfortable to wear under rainwear, which is a must for children who like to run in puddles and torrential rain. Here, unlined rainwear is preferable because even the rain gets warmer.
Be ready with a pair of shorts, skirt or capri trousers for the warmer days, but invest in a pair of foldable twill trousers, comfortable sweatpants or jeans in sweat denim.
The layer-on-layer principle is perfect even for spring. Dress your kid in a long-sleeved T-shirt, which individually provides good protection against the sun and which can be warm enough under the shell jacket / fleece jacket. Keep in mind that the sun's rays are harmful all year round and even on cloudy spring days, the kid's skin needs to be protected.
As an alternative to a fleece jacket if the heat strikes, you can choose one of Villervalla's college jackets or sweatshirts, which are both comfortable and warm enough. Here, our T-shirts fit nicely underneath.
Even though the spring sun warms nicely in the middle of the day, the mornings tend to be a little cooler and the wind also does its part. It's nice to wear a spring hat, which also protects the head and ears that are easily affected by the cold wind. A thin cotton hat does the trick and is easily packed in your pocket or backpack when it is not needed.
When the spring hat gets too hot; change into a sun hat or cap, which protects against the sun's dangerous UV rays and at the same time shades nicely for the eyes.
Knitted mittens are perfect for protection against wind, but when playing in water, our shell gloves are optimal.
Of course, children's clothes need to be adapted to the weather, but also to age and activity. Always make sure that the garments are spacious and comfortable, so that the child has full freedom of movement, but not so big that they become bulky.
PS. Did you know? At Villervalla you will find spring clothes in ÖKO-Tex® or organic cotton, which means that the garments are both comfortable, kinder to the environment and durable, so that they can be inherited.
